《三個傻瓜》由印度奧斯卡最佳導演得主Rajkumar Hirani所執導，改編自印度暢銷書Five Point Someone – What not to do at IIT!，由當紅寶萊塢天王Aamir Khan領銜主演，橫掃2010印度電影觀眾獎（Filmfare Awards）最佳影片、最佳導演、最佳男配角獎項，並一舉拿下國際印度電影大獎頒獎禮（International Indian Film Academy Awards，簡稱IIFA Awards）最佳影片、最佳劇本等八項大獎。
《三個傻瓜》中，友情、親情、師生情和愛情交織成一部部動人的樂曲。男主角Aamir Khan以及另外「兩傻」的 R. Madhavan和Sharman Joshi都有不俗的表現，演活了三個個性志向不同的學生，湊在一塊可以搞出什麼天翻地覆的創舉；其中男主角Aamir Khan已經44歲了，可是卻把20幾歲的大學生演得活靈活現；飾演工學院院長「病毒」（ViruS）的Boman Irani，是個冷面笑將，今人印象深刻；女主角Kareena Kapoor很漂亮，是個大正妹。同樣令人讚嘆的是，《三個傻瓜》的美工、攝影、剪接水準都頗高。
雖然對印度的教育狀況不太瞭解，但是從一些報導和Thomas Friedman的《世界是平的》（The World is Flat）中略知一二。據說印度的升學壓力可能比台灣甚至中國更大，從小就要非常非常拚才能上好學校，所以從孩童起每晚都要以濃咖啡作伴K書。也聽說他們從小就不考選擇題，不管任何題目，考試全都是申論題。這也是為何印度人的數理和邏輯超強，常常能夠勝任工程師這種工作，讓美國高科技重鎮矽谷幾乎成了小印度。

《世界是平的》書中還指出，印度的七所印度理工學院（Indian Institutes of Technology，भारतीय प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान，簡稱IIT），學生程度之高，讓他們到了美國一流名校如MIT，都發現原來MIT的碩士班課程，他們大學部就幾乎全上完了。劇中的帝國工學院（Imperial College of Engineering, ICE）應該就是影射IIT。
